The juggling act: Passions, projects and pleasures.

On my last post, I talked about the value of time and the efforts I’ve made to “buy” myself more of it.

Did I manage to keep my slippery juggling balls up in the air? Well, kinda. I kept my eye on the things that mattered and accepted the fact that some things had to slide. But you know what, I had an amazing ride and realised what was really important to me.

Here’s what I managed to accomplish.

1. I launched a lifestyle website www.easypeasylife.com.au. Targeted at city-slickers like myself, it offers ideas, tips and inspiration on how to live well in a big, beautiful city without blowing their budgets. The site also features city slickers, their lifestyles and a peek at how they make the most of their cities. Currently, the content is focused on Melbourne folks but there are big plans. The vision is to launch Easy Peasy Life in the world’s exciting cities.

Next stop is ex-pat hub Singapore and emerging city, Manila. So watch this space!

2. MyGirlfriends.com.au became the talk of the town. Launched in January this year, it’s a place to get the collective wisdom of women, one problem at a time, on most things that matter to them – love, money, career, health and well-being. Moderated by witty and wonderful women of experience, it’s a great platform to ask for advice, share a story, or indulge in a soapbox moment. We don’t judge.

Right now, the site is undergoing a brand makeover and will be relaunched later in the year with a new look and feel. Thanks to the beautiful graphic designer Jo Klima from The Darling Tree who breathed life into my vision for MyGirlfriends.com.au. Below is a sneak peek of the new MyGirlfriends.com.au brand coming soon.

3.  Woman.com.au has been brewing for many years but it started to take shape over the last few months. It all started with Women Making Waves, a not-for-profit I founded with a girlfriend when I lived in Brisbane. Our aim was to help young women seek fulfilling careers by following their passions. I was 21, full of energy, enthusiasm and idealism of how I wanted to live, work and play. Without going all hippie (and there’s nothing wrong with that), I wanted to live a life of passion, of possibilities, of connectedness, of living dreams by taking action and helping others along the way. Woman.com.au is an incarnation of that idea. And as we get closer to a launch date, more will be revealed.

4. It’s true that winners are grinners. My dance partner and I walked away as winners at the 2012 Victorian Open Dancesport Championships.

5. I also managed to holiday in one of the most beautiful places on the planet: Boracay, Philippines.

It’s been a good year so far.

What juggling act have you managed to pull off this year?
